On the basis of work plan set by the 8th session of Sino-America agriculture scientech collaboration workgroup, USDA “the Competitiveness of US Sino-America Rice in Asian Market" visit group visited China in July, and discussed concerned issues with IAE experts on July 8th, 2002. The two sides exchanged views in the following issues: policy measures affecting Sino-America rice export to Asian market, the importance of joint venture rice farms and processing facilities for expending rice export, constraint factors faced by rice producers. Dr. Lubiao Zhang , deputy director of IAE, presided the session. USDA scholars included Dr. James Hansen and other experts from USDA and universities.
