Dr. Ying Xia visited America and Canada on Feb. 12-22

 

 

After China's WTO accession, How to improve agricultural product's competitiveness, exploit world market, and promote export trade, has become a pressing tasking facing us historically. MOA delegation, led by vice minister Baorui Wan, visited America and Canada on Feb. 12-22 2003, aiming to study their policy support and effective management to agricultural products export trade. Delegation  members came from related departments of MOA. Dr. Ying Xia from IAE participated in this visit.

During the visit, the MOA delegation visited World Trade Center-China Committee, attended "The 36th World Agriculture Exposition" held in California,  and visited Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Canada and Alberta,  Alberta Agricultural Products Processing Union,   and other related sectors.  The MOA delegation received ardor welcome there, discussed   and exchanged ideas with American and Canadian agricultural officials, enterprises and agency representatives on delegation interested issues. The MOA delegation completed the study task on time. During the study tour, it's found that all kinds of guild play an active and indispensable role in promoting agricultural products' export trade. Those guilds  possess original characters in their specific operation service, management function and operating mechanism. Some of these operations and experiences worth study and using as reference. The MOA delegation has brought forward review report containing these contents. The report will be submitted to state council  for policy formulating reference.
