Center for Sustainable Agricultural Development (CSAD)

Background

   With the rapid development of China economy, there is severe challenge facing agricultural natural resources. CSAD strives to bring solution from rural sources and environment issues to macro-strategy of agriculture/Rural development, to improve the policy-making.

Research focus

Research focus

Current studies focus on economy water policy, zoology agro-county building, irrigation management, sustainable agriculture and rural development, policy of rural energy sources, women, community participation, etc. CSAD has established close relationship with research institute and government organizations home and abroad. Research projects are supported by Ford Foundation, WB, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Netherlands-Israel Research Development Project, etc. CSAD also takes in hand projects from Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Water Resource, local government, etc.

 

Integrating research output and specialty, CSAD provides policy consultation for concerned departments and organizations. CSAD has brought out several policy consultation reports for  Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Water Resource, etc. Currently, CSAD works for African Development Bank, UN Project Service Office, etc. Division director, Dr. Zhang Lubiao, assumes consultant for several international organizations.
