Background |
About one fourth of the world population lives in extremities. Poverty reduction becomes major issues drawing worldwide attention. China has made great success in poverty alleviation in the recent 20 years. However, there are still 100 million rural populations in poverty according to international standards. Therefore, studies on the status and various causes of poverty, and possible countermeasures, are of significant meaning to Chinese government and international institutions to shape poverty reduction policy. |

Stress studies on China rural poverty and development of poverty regions, offers policy and project consultation for poverty reduction organizations from central and local governments, international development & aid organizations, and bilateral development & aid organizations.

Book published: Poverty Issues and Economic Development Policy; Technology Pervasion and Poverty Alleviation; Agriculture and Rural Development In Less Developed Region of China (Co-author ). More than 70 papers were published. Establishes wide collaboration with scholars from America, Canada, Japan, EU, etc. conducts several collaborative research projects. Completed research output generates considerable impacts home and abroad. Government and international organizations have adopted many of the outstanding research outputs. Offers policy consultation for UNDP, WB, ADB, FAO, etc. |
