development of China’s forestry industry, which is sponsored by the
State Council of China.
11/99-8/01 Evaluation and Sustainable Utilization of Wetlands
Economic and
ecological evaluation of wetlands in Yellow River Delta (YRD) using
methods such as Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) and Willingness To Pay
(WTP) after collecting data based on stratified sampling; suggestions
made on the management strategy, counter-measures, and action options
for wetland resource development and conservation in YRD.

Food and Nutrition Studies
Involved
in the study “The Prospect and Compendium for the Food Development of
China in 2010”, sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation
of China; was in charge of the subject “Study on the Circulation,
Market and International trade of Chinese Food”.
As one of the major co-authors, took part in drafting “The
compendium for China’s food and nutrition development from 2001 to
2010”, which will be published soon.
II. Sustainable
Development of Agriculture and Rural Economy
Major
participant of the study “Strategic studies on the sustainable
development of Chinese agriculture”, a national soft science project
from the Ministry of Science & Technology; involved in the
multilateral study “Strategy for Chinese agriculture development in
the 21st century”, sponsored by the State Planing
Commission for Economic Development; also took part in studies on the
sustainable development of rural economy and regional agriculture led by
Prof. Lu. Proposals based on these studies have been submitted to the
central and/or local government, some have already been adopted by
decision-makers in central government and local governments.
